The artistic conception of Nika Autor is distinctly socially engaged. Through her art work the female author reflects her clear stands concerning daily life in European urban environment. From the daily life - so commonly taken for granted in the general lack of time that we are (sometimes) not aware of its linearity - the author takes small stories and views that she presents to us from a completely different point of view. Through the notions of individualism, alienation and human dignity Nika Autor offers us a critical reflection about the picture of the world as it is today.
Nika Autor is currently completing her studies of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. In the academic year 2005/2006 she took part in expert studies at the Satakunta Polytechnic Fine Art Kankaanpaa, Department of painting, in Finland, and in the academic year of 2006/2007 at the Academy of Fine Arts Poznan, Department of Photography, in Poland.
She is engaged in the fields of photography, graphics, video and painting.
